Nestled in the Golden Eagle development in Hideout, Utah, this 9,000-square-foot custom residence was designed to take full advantage of its hillside setting and expansive mountain views. The home includes a main residence for the homeowner’s family as well as a connected mother-in-law suite, creating a generous layout while carefully responding to site constraints, building height, footprint, and interior square footage requirements.
Because of the slope of the lot, strategic boulder retaining was used to position the home for a dramatic arrival sequence and strong connection to the surrounding landscape. Inside, the design emphasizes height and openness in the great room, framing views toward Mount Timpanogos, Bald Mountain, and Deer Valley. Expansive glass in the breakfast nook creates a bright, near al fresco dining experience, while the circular staircase and oversized front doors establish a memorable entry.
